Ukelma EPCIM Company is an Oil and Gas (Engineering, procurement, construction, installation and maintenance Nigerian firm), We are recruiting for a Tendering Engineer compliment the Contracts & Tendering Coordinator (CTO) in the completion/management of bids, invitation to tender (ITT), commercial processes for all projects/contracts across the Group. To ensure that contracts are tendered in accordance with company policies, procedures, competency, and regulatory requirements. Should play a critical role in ensuring the complete sourcing of all statutory and required documentations as regards all bids, tenders, and commercials.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Reviewing tender documents: You are responsible for reviewing tender documents to ensure that they meet all expectations and requirements.
- Coordinating with relevant Division/Departments: You must coordinate with various Division/Departments within the company, especially the business, finance, engineering, and technical Division/Departments to ensure that all necessary information’s are included in all tenders where applicable.
- Managing the bid process: You are responsible for managing the entire bid process, including preparing and submitting the bid documents, responding to clarifications, and attending tender meetings.
- Risk assessment: You must perform a risk assessment of the bid/project and identify any potential risks or challenges that may impact the bids/project’s success.
- Market analysis: You must carry out market analysis to identify potential competitors and their strengths and weaknesses to help in crafting the bid.
- Proposal writing: You are responsible for crafting a compelling proposal that addresses the tender/project requirements and differentiates the company from its competitors.
- Negotiation: You are responsible for all key negotiation to secure favorable terms for the company during tendering/bid negotiations.
- Contract management: You are expected to manage the kick-off of all contracts after it has been awarded as directed by your line manager, ensuring that all obligations are met, and that the project processes/execution is well documented, within budget, and to your line managers satisfaction.
- Design the SOP and management of the tendering process for contracts in all sectors where we have interest.
- Ensure that the tendering process is transparent, fair, and in compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Work with internal/external stakeholders where applicable and necessary to facilitate the success of all bids/tenders.
- Manage the contract lifecycle, including monitoring performance, enforcing contract terms and conditions, and resolving disputes.
- Maintain accurate records of the tendering process and contract management activities.
- And any other job functions and specifications as directed by COO or your line manager.
Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in contract and project management in the oil and gas sector, including experience in EPCIM projects.
- Experience in negotiating and managing contracts with customers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements related to contracts and projects in the oil and gas sector.
- Experience in risk management and change management.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to resolve disputes and claims.
- Professional certification is mandatory.
- Great demonstratable contacts with Major IOC’s especially Chevron, Total Energies and Shell/SNEPCO and Regulatory Bodies (e.g. NAPIMS, NIPEX, NCDMB, NNPC etc.)
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles, practices, and regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of project management principles and practices.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: From ₦450,000.00 per month
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Port Harcourt: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred).
